How to Follow a No Flour, No Sugar Diet

So you want to survive the no flour no sugar diet right? But you see that it’s cutting out half of your diet, here are a few tips to help you.

1. Avoid all products containing flour. This includes rice, wheat, corn flacks, white flours, corn etc. Yes pastas gotta go as well.
2. Replace your flour products with whole grains. Instead of refined pasta, buy whole wheat flour. Instead of “wheat bread” buy “whole wheat bread.” Use plenty of barley, oats and legumes.
3. Avoid all sugar containing products. This includes fructose, glucose, sugar, corn syrup etc. Remember that sugar hinds under many different names so be careful, just because “sugar” is not written on the package doesn’t mean it doesn’t contain it.
4. Replace refined sugars with healthy ones. No calorie sweeteners are good, as well as honey and maple syrup (sparingly).
5. Eat a balanced diet of plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and as we said before leave the refined sugars and flour out of it. Also fatty meats should be left out. Lean meats such as turkey etc are fine.
6. Exercise regularly and for at least 30 minutes a day. If you can live up to it, walking 1-2 miles 3-4 times a week is perfect.
7. Set realistic goals. Don’t aim to lose more then one or two pounds a week.
8. Consider buying Dr. Gott’s book (the creator of the no flour, no sugar diet) as it will help to explain many things.
